I have tried the changes you showed me. The script still is giving out the same error.

Try this:
if isStuckInBattle == true then
        -- do something when we are stuck, like attacking.
        return attack()
    end


If you get the same error try my script that I'm using and it works fine on me. Goodluck

function onBattleMessage(wild)
    
    if wild == "You can not run away!" then
        bellshit = 1
    end
end
function onBattleAction()

    if (getOpponentName() == "Bellsprout" ) then
        if bellshit == 1 then        
            return attack() or sendAnyPokemon()
        else
            return run() or sendUsablePokemon()
        end
    end
end
