Search NPC by name
#1
Hello,

since i'm working with lua up to three weeks now i'm not that good with it.
But i think it should be possible to get the current cell by npc-name.
So that you can include something like Pokestop or other story related moving NPC's in a script.

Thanks for any anwsers!

Greets.

Bruh. Please read the thread correctly.

The script should search the npc by name. On a moving npc you cant set X Y.

Im asking not for a API function. Im asking if it would be possible with LUA

So what like youngster timmy or moves from 1,1 to 2,3?

would something like this come in to play? (not on N++ right now so mind if it looks ugly)

function isNpcVisible(npcName) and isNpcOnCell(cellX, cellY) or isNpcOnCell(cellX, cellY)

No..

As the "talkToNpc(npcName)" function you can define a name wich the script has to spoke to.
So like when you enter a Route, the script search for (npcName) and get his cell location.
Even if its moving.

I understand what you're saying, but the api has no function for that, which is why I'm trying to help you find a way around it.

By the way: it is probably worth mentioning that the NPCs are not moving.
They are only moving on the official client, PROShine does not care about that.

If you find the cell of a NPC, the cell will never change.

Yea, if you hadn't notice when you go into a map with moving npcs they are always on one specific cell.
